OVERVEW
The biggest island beside Ha Long Bay, spanning 280km2, has a population of 10.000 people living in 6 different communes (including the floating villages). Cat Ba National Park – Biosphere reserve is, which is home to highly endangered Cat Ba Languor. This island has a wide variety of natural ecosystems, both marine and terrestrial, leading to incredibly high rates of biodiversity. Types of natural habitats found on the Cat Ba archipelago include limestone karst, tropical limestone forest, coral reefs, mangrove, and seagrass beds, lagoons, beaches, caves, and willow swamp forests.
